At the Seaside

When I was down beside the sea
A wooden spade they gave to me
To dig the sandy shore.
My holes were empty like a cup,
In every hole the sea came up,
Till it could come no more.

kept scrolling down and found the Robt Louis Stevenson poem and illustration; both, I assume, from "A Child's Garden of Verses". my father often read the poems to me and I love them and know some by heart. it's Father's Day so I'm reminded of him. very nice.
